Layover in Paris

Ah, it has been awhile, blog world. So, my dear friend Kelsey got me motivated to start blogging about our recent trip to Europe, a little bit at a time.

So, we went on a cruise in the Mediterranean earlier this month with my family (thanks Passeys for the sweet trip!!) and it was amazing. Getting to the trip was not-so-fun for Kyncade and me, though. Due to delayed flights/missing flights/long layovers we ended up traveling for 30 hours...yuck. One plus was that we met a delightful employee of Air France in Boston who hooked us up with a long-ish layover in Paris...so we thought we would leave the airport and go to one of our favorite Parisian spots when we had the chance.

So, here are some photos from lovely Montmartre. We took the metro up and ordered some delish crepes...it was swell. It felt good to be back in France and speaking French.

Montmartre is seriously so charming. It is made of a bunch of cute shops and restaurants located on a hill overlooking Paris. Last year Kyncade and I celebrated our anniversary here by eating out and then meandering through the streets. It was so much fun showing him one of my favorite spots in Paris. It was fun coming back and remembering that anniversary.

As I mentioned, Montmartre is on a hill. Unfortunately we had to carry our carry-ons with us everywhere we went...Kyncade was so very sweet and carried my massive bag of death for me everywhere.

We plopped on the hill and just enjoyed the French air.

The main landmark of Montmartre is the Sacre Coeur church, as seen below. They were setting up for some sort of X games while we were there...someone was going to skateboard down this huge ramp...kind of crazy.

We were only in Paris a couple of hours, but we enjoyed it. I loved feeling like I knew the city and French well enough to make the little excursion happen on such short notice.
